Southern Cali group?

Hey I am new to this site and would love to join an online support group that is in the Los Angeles area. I am scheduled for my first meeting with my surgeon on teh 23rd of Oct. I would love some help and support. Does anyone know of anything?

Thanks Chris! I was just wondering if there were more specific groups for certain areas and so fourth. I am looking forward to hearing all the info everyone has to offer and am very excited to get this process under way.

I am not from the LA area but I wanted to welcome you to the So Cal board.  We are here for you with support and friendship.  Hopefully someone can help you with a support group in your area, also make sure you ask your doctor about them too.  We do have a social coffee that meets in Seal Beach/Long Beach area that you are welcome to come to.  There you will meet alot of people that are friendly and very supportive.  Can't be shy around this group, they are fun loving and enjoy themselves.  They are a mix, or pre op, post op, not having surgery, all kinds of people in the group.  Look under JEAN L posting about the SoCal coffee.  It's in todays morning post.

Hey J, So do u have any groups you know about or anything? Just curious.

what part of LA are you from?  I usually attend the SoCal coffee once a month, and any other local event that I can attend.  As far as groups go, I try to attend the Orange County meetings if I can get off of work, but that's pretty rare.  There's also a meeting at the Kaiser office in West Covina every 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month that I attend.

Hi Jennifer and welcome to the Cali Board.  You definitely came to the right place.  You can get as much online support as you need and/or can handle just by posting as you did today. 
You shoulo definitely come to the So Cal Coffee on October 24th in Seal Beach.  This group usually gets together the last Saturday of the month; however, this month the vote is to have it on the 24th as the last Saturday is halloween.  Hope to see you there.

Hey Terry, thank you so much for all of your help!! I will defintely check out and see if there are any support groups in my area. I am in the Sherman Oaks area so Seal Beach is a little too far of a drive.  I will defintely keep everyone posted on my doc appt. Thanks again!!
